Just saw God of Carnage and was really bugged by a small detail. Why did the cast all mispronounce "clafoutis? Surely members of the aspirational class would know to put the accent on the last (NOT the second) syllable. Was this done intentionally to make them seem ignorant?

The Huntington Theatre Company received today a $10,000,000 donation from the Calderwood Charitable Foundation. The Calderwood contribution is intended to provide the Huntington with  about $500,000 in annual operating support -- replacing the same amount  the foundation has given it in each of the past three years. It’s nice to see how the puzzle pieces fit together to create something great. A week ago, the pieces of production for Vengeance in the Lord’s were still in their shops. But since then the staff have been busy making a masterpiece on stage. With dress rehearsal so soon, it’s no surprise that they've got their stuff together.

We've finally retired our 1995 Ford Cargo Van.  You may have seen it parked out front - you know the one with the yellow pinstripes and three bandaids? I haven't had a chance to take the new one it for a spin yet myself, but it's already got it's first parking ticket. That's city living for ya.

One of the actors in Bus Stop made a quick trip down to New York yesterday morning for an audition. Her return train was supposed to leave New York at 12:30pm and arrive in Boston at 4:40pm - in plenty of time for the evening's 7:30pm curtain.
